In this interesting role you will provide a facial identification service for Thames Valley Police by carrying out interviews with victims and witnesses of serious crime, in order to provide a computer generated facial likeness of suspects for identification purposes. You will provide victims and witness with information regarding the EFIT procedure and guide them through the EFIT process, ensuring viable descriptions are obtained. 

It is essential that you have proven listening and interview skills along with the ability to communicate   with members of the public, Police officers and Police staff with empathy, tact and discretion. You will have proven IT experience of using art packages along with being a confident user of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to provide presentations on the use of Facial   imaging. You will need to be Accredited to the National Standard of Facial Identification Techniques (or be willing to obtain Accreditation). 

You will be part of a two person team providing an E/Fit service and while your prime responsibility will be for the South East and South West of the Force area, you will be expected to   provide cover for the entire Force area in the absence of your colleague.   Your base station location is negotiable within the South West and South East Operational command areas (Berkshire West, Berkshire East). 

You will need to be flexible in your approach to working hours and this may mean sometimes re-arranging your duty times or working overtime to suit witness availability. 

You may be tested on your practical knowledge of Photoshop software although further training will be provided for the right candidate.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held week commencing 17th June.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
