The Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) Investigations Team are part of the National Counter Terrorism Policing network and support and lead CT Investigations on behalf of Forces across the South East region.

We are looking for two Detective Constables to join our team to undertake proactive and reactive investigations in relation to terrorism and extremist criminal activity.

You will conduct interviews of suspects, or witnesses gathering evidence in order to eliminate them from our enquiries, or to assess their involvement in the offence under investigation utilising TACT/PACE legislation. You will demonstrate a high level of integrity whilst gathering evidence and dealing with witnesses. You will assist with the preparation of evidential prosecution files for review by the CPS and managing Disclosure.

You will have experience investigating serious or complex cases and intelligence led investigations. Experience of disclosure and dealing with sensitive issues is also essential to the role. Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to enhanced level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
