Are you looking for a job role where no two days will be the same? Where you will help provide a vital service to the public, which will often be in situations when they need it the most? If so Thames Valley Police are looking to recruit you to join as a Police Contact Enquiry Officer.

You will be the first point of contact to all enquiries from members of the public who attend or telephone the Police Station. You will also deal with internal customers and will provide a high quality customer service to all, in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures. There will be general administration and the responsibility for dealing with the receipt and return of property.

You must have the ability to deal with difficult and potentially confrontational situations and must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Proven customer service skills are essential along with an ability to work unsupervised. You will have the ability to undertake physical Personal Safety Training and must be competent in the use of IT systems.

A variety of 0700-1500 hrs and 1000-1800 hrs shifts over a 4 week period, averaging 18.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday only, no weekend or Bank Holiday working.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
