This is an exciting opportunity to join the SEROCU and Thames Valley Police collaborated Economic Crime Capability in a management capacity.

As the Financial Investigation Manager (FIM) for Financial Investigation and Asset Recovery, you will manage teams of Financial Investigators, each supervised by a Senior Financial Investigator, conducting functions including Asset Recovery, Confiscation Enforcement and Financial Investigation, in support of both SEROCU and TVP’s fight against criminal finance.

The teams cover and are spread out across the South East region, so you will need excellent leadership skills to build cohesive working, and drive performance and excellence through the most effective use of POCA powers.

The role holder will be also perform Senior Authorising Officer duties for investigative orders, so will need to have high levels of knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act, and other applicable law (Human Rights, CPIA), along with both criminal and financial investigation.

You will have responsibility for asset recovery and disruption performance, including meeting KPI’s so you should be result focused and know how to get the best out of your teams.

You will need to establish and maintain relationships with a wide variety internal and external stakeholders and service users, as well as briefing to SLT level, so communication and partnership building skills are key.

You should be able to demonstrate high levels of understanding of Financial Investigation and POCA tactical options/powers, and be able to write legally compliant financial investigation strategies, internal processes and provide specialist advice Senior Investigating Officers accordingly.

Unless already accredited as a Senior Authorising Officer, the post holder will be required to complete the relevant entrant’s exam and training, and thereafter complete all CPD to attain full accreditation with the NCA Proceeds of Crime Centre (PoCC).

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. 

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC.  In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
