In this role, you will provide comprehensive logistical support for the South East Technical Surveillance Unit (SETSU) operational delivery, by ordering items, obtaining quotations, management of equipment inventory, delivering and collecting vehicles and other items from SETSU bases across the region and other locations as required in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Providing an effective and efficient service to the SETSU for all equipment and consumable items. This includes, issue and receipt of all the above goods, recording items on an electronic database, storage and stock control and delivery of goods where appropriate.

 

  • Ordering items, obtaining quotations, including filling out requisitions, obtaining manager approval, and using appropriate vendors. Provide information to managers, peers, subordinates and other departments. Pack and unpack items to be stocked in stockrooms and warehouses or returned for repair. Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labelling equipment.

 

  • Assisting with ensuring stock levels are maintained to meet demand in accordance with agreed levels by recording and notifying in accordance with departmental procedures

 

To be successful in this role you will need good communication skills (written and oral) with a proven customer focussed approach. With an accurate and methodical method of working, you will have proven and current computer literacy e.g. Microsoft Office applications and in house systems. You will hold a current driving licence and must be able to drive and pass an internal TVP driving test to ensure continuity of deliveries.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.
