SEROCU leads the response across the region to the risk posed by serious and organised crime in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley. It is committed to relentlessly disrupting these risks by using its 13 capabilities and by partnership working with the National Crime Agency, Forces and other partners.

SEROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the South East region to deliver the government’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy and to protect communities from harm.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Intelligence Indexer to join the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) hosted by Thames Valley Police on behalf of the region.

You will support major investigations and assist with the development of intelligence, relating to regional serious and organised crime groups. You will receive assess, disseminate and prioritise information received from a number of sources. You will prioritise, index, disseminate, review and process intelligence.

The successful applicant will have a good standard of education including excellent numeracy and literacy skills, or substantial role related experience. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to recognise and manage sensitive information and maintaining discretion and confidentiality. You will be self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative and effectively with a team.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.

For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire appropriate security clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is a national requirement.
