Secondment/Fixed Term Contract

Fixed Term Contract / Secondment for 12 months

The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and assessing incoming mail for the station and phone calls for the Local Policing Area. You will complete often sensitive and confidential administrative tasks including: typing, taking minutes, record keeping, taking telephone/email messages and answering routine queries. You will also be responsible for taking delivery and despatch of stationery and Force stores orders.

You must have a good standard of education, RSA II or equivalent, excellent literacy and numeric skills, and the ability to take minutes with good communication skills, for example a National Vocational Qualification Level 1 in Administration or Customer Services or proven experience in a similar environment. Proven interpersonal skills are essential together with an ability to promote professional working relationships with personnel at all levels. Recent experience of working in an office environment is required with evidence demonstrating discretion, tact and diplomacy, initiative, and flexibility.
