Band 3F, circa £26,285 per annum. Progression based on performance, plus benefits
Full Time
Secondment/Fixed Term Contract

12 Month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment

In this exciting role you will be working at the heart of a large and complex Local Resilience Forum coordinating a wide range of multi-agency partners in meeting their duties under the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) 2004. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in emergency planning providing a central role in the work of the emergency services, health, local authorities, the Environment Agency and wider organisations.

You will have strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to develop co-operative working relationships with a wide range of diverse stakeholders. These skills will be required as you undertake a key role in the Multi-Agency Information Cell (MAIC) for EU Exit and other events or incidents that take place in Thames Valley. They will also enable you to effectively support multi-agency emergency planning meetings; ranging from the Executive Group (chaired by DCC Jason Hogg) through to regular work with emergency planning officers to ensure that risks are assessed and then emergency plans are developed, trained and exercised.

You will be highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision as you support the day to day running of the partnership and undertake specific multi-agency project work; including a review and update of the multi-agency website used to warn and inform the public. You will need to have knowledge, or be willing to develop knowledge, around core emergency planning principles including the CCA 2004 and the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP) which underpin the work of the partnership and will be a core element as you are involved in the development and delivery of multi-agency exercise(s).

You must have the ability to attend meetings across a wide geographical area where public transport may not be available (for this reason a full UK driving licence is essential). You should be able to undertake assignments in a timely manner and be available to work flexibly with the potential for occasional evening and weekends, where required.

As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 22-30 days annual leave per annum (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, performance related pay increases, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme.
