The Assessment and Investigation Unit (AIU) is transforming how we prioritise and investigate volume crime and, in so doing, significantly improve our contact and service with victims.
The AIU is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Triage leadership team, but based in Berkshire, managing teams, across the force, of officers and staff to embed this transformation and take it forward.
Reporting to the AIU Senior Manager - Triage, you will be responsible for leading AIU teams through the delivery and performance of the triage process for volume crime by making best use of our resources and technology; working with the teams to ensure that investigations are prioritised based on threat, harm, opportunity, risk and victim impact.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide resilience and support across the AIU Triage function (force wide) in all aspects of the AIU’s work. In addition, the role holder will have line management responsibility for a unique work force mix of police officers, student officers, and police staff, supporting their welfare, performance and development.
There is an expectation that the role holder will lead by example to promote a balance of productivity, wellbeing and team cohesion.

Vetting. All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner.
