Part time – 20 hours per week

In this role you will work as part of a team developing and supporting Force wide crime prevention and reduction initiatives through designing out future opportunities for crime. You will be required to analyse plans and applications, prepare reports and complete consultation documents. You will need to develop effective communications and provide best practice crime prevention advice to all professionals involved in the development of the built environment is important. Maintaining current knowledge of appropriate legislation and guidance including Counter Terrorism Protective Services is important.

You will have a good standard of education, including excellent numeracy and literacy skills with the capacity to work without close supervision. Recent experience in the use of SARA (Scan, Analyse, Respond, and Assess), NIM (National Intelligence Model) and POP (Problem Orientated Policing) are essential as are the skills to communicate effectively at all levels.

The ability to negotiate, influence and develop strong working relationships is essential along with being IT Literate in Microsoft Office packages. The post holder will have successfully completed the Crime Prevention Learning & Development Programme modules or equivalent accreditation and be prepared to attend the next Designing out Crime course.
