The role

Your task will be to maintain the accreditation of the forces’ systems and maintain compliance with national and local standards providing pragmatic, cost-effective solutions for exchanging information. You will provide initial response and management of information security incidents, escalating to the Assurance Lead as appropriate, in order to ensure incidents are dealt with effectively. You will be expected to provide security requirements, in line with forces’ policies and procedures, for 3rd party and supplier contracts and agreements to support the on-going effectiveness of the Information Security Management System. You will be giving advice on information assurance requirements for new and existing ICT systems, project boards and Technical Architects.

 

The essentials

• Appropriate qualification or significant experience in a relevant discipline, e.g. Information Governance, Data Protection, Information Assurance / Security, MoPI.

• Be able to exhibit practical experience in the Information Security / IT Arena.

• Technical understanding of IT systems and risk management processes. Must be familiar with Cloud and Mobile technologies.

• Proven understanding of Information Assurance principles, relevant legislation and Her Majesty’s Government / Police IA Standards.

• Maintain a high degree of integrity and trust when dealing with sensitive and classified information.

• Appropriate professional qualification in relevant discipline (such as: MSc Information Security, CISSP, CESG Certified Professional etc.) (this may be completed after appointment).

• Must have capability to travel regularly to different locations across Thames Valley Police and Hampshire Constabulary. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential.
