This is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity to join Thames Valley Police as our Learning Zone Facilitator. You will be working as part of Learning and Development within the Accreditation and Quality team, who provide learning and assessment to staff undertaking accredited programmes. 

To develop you as an efficient and effective Learning and Development practitioner, you will undertake the Advanced Learning and Development apprenticeship.  You will receive structured off the job development, supported by workplace learning and mentoring.

As you develop your skills, you will support Learning and Development and Force wide strategies, initiatives and events. You will be responsible for ensuring the Force’s learning resources, library and information services are accessible, providing guidance and assistance to those using the facility. Using learning technologies, you will design and maintain a virtual space to complement this area.   You will become expert in the legislative and licencing requirements that surround creating and maintaining learning resources, helping us to maintain compliance with the Police Service Quality Assurance Scheme and the licenced products we use.

The successful applicant will possess a good standard of education, alongside an interest in Learning and Professional Development. Good interpersonal and confident communication skills are required, along with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.

The apprenticeship is aimed at those who are not experienced in Learning and Professional Development and/or have not achieved qualifications in this field.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
