HOLMES Reader/Receiver

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HOLMES Reader/Receiver to work within the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE). You will support major terrorist and domestic extremism investigations, using the HOLMES Computer system, ensuring that all lines of enquiry have been pursued to a satisfactory conclusion.
In the Receiving role you will read and identify initial lines of enquiry in line with the Senior Investigating Officer’s (SIO) policy. You will assess all material entering the Major Incident Room (MIR) identifying urgent action, and making decisions on fast track material.
With proven investigative background/ experience of major crime investigations, you will have completed or be willing to complete a HOLMES course, and have relevant knowledge of evidence handling and disclosure processes. A confident and competent user of IT, you will be able to analyse large amounts of information and establish priorities amongst competing demands.
This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.
