For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire appropriate security clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Counter Terrorism Police Operations Room (CTPOR). As CTPOR Operational Support you will support surveillance operations, and support the administration of the CTPOR through the submission of surveillance product and maintenance of processes, including IT systems.

Your main responsibility will be to undertake the role of surveillance monitor, using your knowledge, training and judgement to make valued recommendations on possible risks.

The successful applicant will have working knowledge of an operational/ surveillance role, together with knowledge of the national glossary. You will need to have excellent communication skills including the ability to negotiate and influence. You will have the ability to work under pressure and the ability to manage high volumes of information. You will also be highly flexible in dealing with working shifts and frequent short notice duty changes.

A full driving licence is essential. At interview you will be asked to confirm your willingness to undergo driving training to enable the use of a police authorised vehicle.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV).
