For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire appropriate security clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals.

An opportunity has arisen for a number of Security Officers to work within the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) .You will provide overall security/guarding capability to protect the assets and staff at the CTPSE site.

You will ensure maintenance of security logs and recording of any incidents that occur in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and CTPSE Security Protocols.

You will ensure all security related systems and equipment are maintained, liaising with appropriate parties to seek resolution to any issues or failure. You will be required to provide resilience for reception in times of high demand and periods of absence.

The successful applicant will hold a valid SIA Licence or be prepared to undertake SIA training, be confident and possess effective communication skills including the ability to be discreet, tactful, diplomatic and sensitive.

You must be able to work in a highly pressurised environment and have excellent time management skills with flexibility to meet demand. You will be able to work well as part of a team as well as working with minimum supervision when required, using initiative to make decisions. You will also have proven IT skills with the ability to operate and learn new systems

As the role will require shift work, you must have a flexible approach to working hours to suit the requirements of the role and be prepared to work overtime as required. The shifts will cover a 24/7 operation.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.
