Band 3G, circa £26,817 per annum pro-rata. Progression based on performance, plus benefits.
Part Time- All roles are available for flexible working including job sharing and part-time unless there are legitimate operational / business reasons why this cannot be accommodated

Part time – 18.5 hours

 

In this exciting role you will act as the first point of contact for dog related incidents, to manage the Force delivery of services related to dog seizures, investigation, assessment and prosecutions, in accordance with current dog legislation. You will attend court when necessary, as an expert witness in relation to identity of illegal breeds. You will undertake weekly checks of privately contracted kennels to ensure effective and efficient management of any seized dogs.

 

 

You will have strong inter-personal skills in order to deal professionally and assertively with colleagues and dog owners whilst maintaining approachability at all times. High levels of tact, discretion and diplomacy and the ability to operate effectively and robustly in emotionally sensitive situations is considered essential. You will have previous experience of working with handling dogs and the ability to operate in a role that will place physical demands. A good level of IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft packages is required.
