In this exciting role, you will under the National Standards of Intelligence Management (NSIM)) effectively manage the Threat, Harm and Risk presented to the force and region.

You will collate, research, assess and disseminate intelligence to support the use of the National Decision Model (NDM). You will be a major contributor to the building and maintaining of the National network of intelligence to enhance National Security against the threat of terrorism under the National Common Intelligence Application (NCIA).

You will provide support to operations in an intelligence cell, Fusion cell, or CT Police Operations Room environment. You will also support the needs of the wider policing world through directed tasks, and appropriate information sharing agreements.

We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in collating and assessing information including good communication and problem solving skills. You will have recent and relevant experience within an intelligence environment with an understanding of relevant policy and legislation.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.

Please note that although this role is currently based Near Gatwick, we will be vacating our current premises by Autumn 2022, and roles will move to alternative sites. Detailed planning work is ongoing to identify interim and long term options, which will include planning for growth and development of Counter Terrorism Policing in the South East into the future.
