The Regional Cyber Crime Unit sets out to tackle both cyber-dependent crime and the most complex and serious cyber-enabled crime. The unit is made up of the Cyber Pursue Team, Cyber Protect and Prevent capabilities.

 

As a Cyber Crime officer, you will conduct investigations and operations into the most serious incidents of network based organised criminal activity, to detect digital crime, gather and distribute relevant and quality intelligence.

 

You will provide technical advice and assistance to officers engaged in the investigation of digital crime, to produce evidence in a form which is admissible in Court.

 

We are looking for officers with effective communication/interpersonal and good team working skills. Due to the nature of the role, you will have ability to evidence computer qualifications including computer forensic qualifications or previous employment within computer or IT industry.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to enhanced level and hold Substantive PIP 2 Detective Constable.


This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
