The Thames Valley Local Resilience Forum (TVLRF) consists of a team that facilitates multi-agency partners in fulfilling their duties to work together in the planning for and response to a wide range of incidents in accordance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (CCA 2004). This includes warning and informing the public; advising the public of risks before an emergency and keeping them informed in the event of an emergency. This large and complex partnership covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes. The TVLRF Warning & Informing Group provides a multi-agency communications forum through which partner agencies can collaborate on their public communication duty.   

As a TVLRF Community and Communications Officer, you will be passionate and driven in putting structures in place to better societal resilience to incidents. You will work closely with several multi-agency groups to enhance and increase the effectiveness with which communications can prepare and support communities in the Thames Valley region. You will enjoy working across a wide range of stakeholder groups, including from business, faith, voluntary organisations.  You will provide specialist communication and engagement support for TVLRF, to include supporting the dissemination and use of critical communication materials in preparation for, and in response to, major incidents. 

We are looking for someone with exceptional intrapersonal skills, and who loves working collaboratively with others to best effect. Networking, influencing, and being a team player are key qualities. Additionally, this role requires you to think strategically, and critically assess activities at a high level. Proven ability to plan, prioritise, implement and monitor programmes seeing the work through to completion as well as excellent writing skills for a variety of audiences is considered essential. You will have experience of website development, working to accessibility guidelines and developing materials for public consumption (both on and offline).

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
