In this new and exciting role you will provide a centre of excellence to support and lead the user community of Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police’s shared systems. You will provide a business support and development service to users, maintaining system configurations where required. We need you to support both forces to deliver crucial benefits by building smart business processes and strong relationships with our users, the force change teams and ICT department colleagues.

As a Business Support Officer, you will be assigned to one of our core functions:

  • Contact Management Platform – our Command & Control system used to record contact from members of the public and manage the deployment of our officers and staff in response
  • Single Online Home – our online services platform, which enables members of the public to contact us through modern, digital channels to report incidents, ask for advice, and even apply for their firearms licences
  • Pronto – our digital “pocket notebook” application which enables our officers and staff to complete more of their work outside of a police station, in our communities

New technologies and alternative ways of working are transforming the way we protect our communities and bring people to justice.  This role presents a fantastic opportunity to play a vital part in delivering better systems and products, enabling us to manage risk more effectively and help our officers and staff to “walk the digital beat”.  Join our team and see your contributions enable more modern, sophisticated policing.

The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to manage expectations
  • Great investigative and problem solving abilities
  • Experience of delivering work in collaboration with others; depending on the system, we support users and stakeholders across two forces, in regional partnerships or at a national level.

As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 24 days annual leave per annum pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme.
