An exciting opportunity has arisen for five Organised Crime Disruption Officers to work within a new unit: the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) Disruption Team, to be based initially in Slough, with flexibility to work across the region.

SEROCU leads the response across the region to the risk posed by serious and organised crime in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley. It is committed to relentlessly disrupting these risks by using its capabilities and by partnership working with the National Crime Agency, Forces and other partners, providing the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the South East region to deliver the government’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy and to protect communities from harm.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.

Your role will be to work as part of a team of Police Officers and Police Staff whose focus is on disrupting organised crime in the South East by working collaboratively with Police and partner agencies and utilising a wide range of tactics, legislation and powers from across law enforcement.

Other responsibilities will include: -Develop effective working relationships with the Government Agency Intelligence Network (GAIN), law enforcement partners and statutory bodies to develop tactics using the full range of police and partner powers to disrupt organised crime.

-Apply knowledge of organised crime networks and use organised crime group mapping and techniques developed by the College of Policing and LE partners to target individuals, locations and thematic crime areas.

- Develop and identify areas of good practice and ensure interoperability with other law enforcement partners in joint operations and campaigns that relentlessly disrupt organised crime.

Successful applicants will be substantive DC or PCs with experience of investigations. They will be conversant with the legal and practical application of RIPA, CPIA and civil orders such as SCPO, SOPO.

You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and willingness to work with police partners. You will be willing to work in a flexible, proactive and committed way across the SE region and be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.
