INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY

In this role you will ensure all the police stations and operational buildings are ‘fit for purpose’ and achieve the necessary standards required for their daily functions by resolving issues or reporting defects for remedial action. Duties will include complying with Health and Safety legislation including fire alarms and water testing. You will monitor sites in terms of heating, cooling, electrical systems, site security, cleaning and vehicle fleet administration.

A good standard of education is required, together with computer literacy to use the Microsoft Office packages. You will have achieved, or be prepared to work towards, membership and qualification from an appropriate organisation (e.g. British Institute of Facilities Management). You will have the ability to manage and prioritise your own time as well as that of your team whilst using your own initiative and working unsupervised. Experience within a customer focused environment and good interpersonal skills are essential. Recent experience in maintenance or a building role is essential along with knowledge of Health and Safety legislation or a willingness to obtain this. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role due to travelling to different locations across the Force and undertaking assignments in a timely manner.
