An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified individual to join the Regional Organised Crime Threat Assessment Unit (ROCTA), part of the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) hosted by Thames Valley Police on behalf of the region.

SEROCU leads the response across the region to the risk posed by serious and organised crime in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley. It is committed to relentlessly disrupting these risks by using its 13 capabilities and by partnership working with the National Crime Agency, Forces and other partners. SEROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the South East region to deliver the government’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy and to protect communities from harm.

You will support the identification, assessment and review of organised crime group (OCG), individuals and vulnerabilities through the collection of data from local forces and partner agencies, to enable both the identification and types of disruption opportunities available to LRO’s. You will research, develop and evaluate information and intelligence to identify persons of concern, trends and hotspots. You will identify opportunities for safeguarding the victims of OCG’s and for the disruption of linked nominal.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education including excellent numeracy and literacy skills, or have substantial role related experience. You will be IT literate and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.

The post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) before taking up the post.
