Applications are sought from substantive Detective Inspectors to work with the South East Regional Prison Intelligence Team (SERPIT), working in partnership to identify and disrupt extremism and serious and organised crime within the South East Prison Estate.

The South East Regional Prison Intelligence Team is responsible for gathering and developing intelligence from the Prison Service and other associated establishments relating to national security issues and serious organised crime.

As Intelligence Manager they will manage the intelligence flow and ensure high quality products are provided to the region.

The successful candidate will be one of two DI’s managing SERPIT which is based near Gatwick. This will involve working with partners to maintain and develop existing relationships to ensure compliance with the team’s strategy and objectives. They will oversee the management of threat and risk within the prison estate in accordance with NSIM and other intelligence handling models.

The successful candidate will have excellent management skills with an ability to manage staff working across the region and experience of intelligence systems and procedures together with associated legislation. They will have previous exposure to covert operational tactics and experience in risk assessment and management.

The role may require travel for business purposes on occasions, being willing to be on an on call rota and demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.
