Applications are invited for the above position. The purpose of the role is:

To act as a Contingency Planning Officer for the Joint Operations Unit and to coordinate integrated emergency management across both police force areas and Local Resilience Forums (Hampshire & Thames Valley).

Ensuring adequate preparation for any emergencies which may occur through effective identification, analysis and assessment of all potential threats, risks and hazards with the provision of an appropriate response to manage and mitigate their effects.

Respond to, and act as an advisor at the Strategic and/or Tactical command level to recommend options available to influence preferred outcomes with regards to major incidents and civil emergencies.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
