In this exciting opportunity within the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) you will conduct open source research and provide an investigative guide on the outcome of those enquiries to the CSE / CSA on-line investigation team for the SE Region. To provide advice to the Operation Head in the use of covert open source intelligence and develop best evidential practices for the capture of information.  

Key responsibilities include:  

Conduct open source research to support the regional on-line CSE / CSA investigation team in order to identify subjects of the investigation identify other evidential opportunities and any other risks to children.  

Provide clear and concise reports, including to an evidential standard if required, relating to open source enquiries conducted to ensure appropriate investigative decisions can be made.  

Develop good practice and guidance for Open Source Research for this crime type to ensure effective dissemination to appropriate staff and officers.

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience of working in an evidential Open Source environment and proven ability to research and interrogate, to a high level, Force information, intelligence systems and Open Source intelligence.

You will have capability to travel, sometimes at short notice, to different locations across the region, and a full UK driving license. Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced level of vetting.
