The Force Crime Registrar (FCR) Unit sits within the Governance and Service Improvement department which is part of the Deputy Chief Constable’s portfolio. The successful candidate will work with the DCC and other senior leaders within Thames Valley Police to ensure a victim focussed approach to crime recording.  The successful candidate will be supported by a deputy and a team of assistant crime registrars who provide specialist support to operational staff on the application of the National Crime Recording Standard (NCRS), the Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR) for crime and the National Standard for Incident Recording (NSIR).

The successful candidate will also manage the Crime Data Audit programme and the Crime Data Auditor team.  The programme includes a risk based approach to audit to ensure that systems and processes for crime recording are operating efficiently and effectively.  The successful candidate will ensure areas of organisational learning are identified and effective solutions implemented across the organisation.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong problem solving, communication and relationship building skills with the personal credibility to influence at all levels.  The role requires College of Policing accreditation and you will be supported to attend the course and complete workplace accreditation within your first 18 months.  Proven experience of decision making and managing and developing teams is essential whilst experience of working to support victims and knowledge of the Home Office Counting Rules is desirable.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
