Applications are invited from substantive Sergeants or those eligible for promotion through career pathways for the post of CTPOR Manager within the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU).  

The purpose of the role is to ensure the effective operational and administrative running of the Counter Terrorism Police Operations Room (CTPOR).

You will supervise a small team of Police Staff within the unit and supervise covert operations. In addition, the role requires you to supervise and direct a larger number of officers and staff within the operations room environment and dependent upon operational requirements coordinate such activity across the country.

You may be required to travel for business purposes on occasion and demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours. Shifts are flexible but must mirror the Surveillance team deployments - weekend cover is one in four. You should have the ability to perform an on-call arrangement for immediate response as required. You must be prepared to be vetted to Developed Vetting (DV) level.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
