This is an exciting opportunity, open to substantive Detective Constables and those Constables nearing completion of their portfolio to join the regional cyber capability to support the fight against organised crime in the South East. The role represents the forces of the South East region and will be the pivotal link between the National Cyber Crime Unit, which will be within the National Crime Agency and Force Cyber investigation capabilities as part of a National Cyber Crime network.

You will be responsible for conducting investigations and operations into the most serious incidents of network based organised criminal activity. You will detect cyber crime; gather and distribute relevant and quality intelligence, to provide technical advice and assistance to officers engaged in the investigation of cyber crime and produce evidence in a form which is admissible in Court.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently and to operate under pressure.

It is desirable for an applicant to have previous employment within computer or IT industry, experience working with computers (for example, servers). Ideally, you will have experience working in the cyber and digital environment and knowledge of the practical challenges it present. You will have proven ability to handle intelligence/sensitive information.

It is desirable but not essential that you have completed a CID foundation course or successfully completed the ICIDP.
