There has never been a more exciting or important time to work in internal comms within policing and develop our employee engagement offer. Technology is bringing new opportunities to connect officers and staff, emerging and complex issues are leading to significant areas of change and there is greater recognition of the role of communications in employee wellbeing.

In establishing our new and growing Employee Engagement team within Corporate Communications, we are seeking an Employee Engagement Officer.

In this role, you will carry out timely and effective day to day delivery and enablement of employee engagement and communications, writing for different audiences and channels and advising staff and officers across the force on how best to meet their communications and engagement needs.

As well as reactive or slower time requests for support, you will also take the lead on planning and delivering communications for projects providing specialist advice where required. This may include working with other forces’ communications teams where the projects are collaborative.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as proven skills in working on your own initiative and writing for audience needs. The ideal candidate for this role will have proven experience of change communications and experience of developing and delivering internal campaigns, evaluating the success of the communications.
