The Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) Forensic Management Team formulate and implement forensics strategies to service the needs of highly sensitive, covert and overt Counter Terrorism (CT) operations.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Counter Terrorism Crime Scene Investigator (CT CSI) to join our Forensic Management Team. You will manage covert and overt exhibits and provide professional advice and conduct forensic examinations in support of the CTP SE investigations.

You will have recent and relevant experience in forensic science with a good level of education or relevant qualification with good numeric and literacy skills. Successful completion of the CSI Stage 1 and Stage 2 Course is essential to the role. Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to enhanced level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home
