The overall purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive, flexible, efficient and effective support service, often of a highly confidential nature, to the Head of Department/Senior Management Team within the Tasking & Resilience Department. You will prepare files for meetings, take accurate minutes and distribute them. You will respond and resolve queries notifying the Head of Department or members of the Senior Management Team of any matters requiring urgent attention and manage their diaries effectively.

 

You will be a confident communicator at all levels with a good standard of education, have an ability to take minutes having attained RSA III or equivalent and may be working towards or attained NVQ Customer Service level 2 or equivalent. You will have proven interpersonal skills and the ability to promote professional working relationships with personnel at all levels. This skill will have been developed in a demanding office environment where they will have regularly demonstrated discretion, tact and diplomacy, multi-tasking, enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility. An ability to work to deadlines, handle diverse information, manage a substantial workload and solve problems with minimum supervision is essential as well as an ability to work on own initiative. You will have recent experience in accuracy of data, proven skills in problem-solving, planning, prioritising and organising and events with the ability to influence at the appropriate level to ensure relevant processes are maintained and agreed disciplines are followed. Experience in MS Applications and Outlook is also required.
