This new role offers a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated youth justice team, working in partnership to identify and deliver individually tailored Criminal Justice outcomes for young people and being part of a wider Criminal Justice team, in order to manage and develop the delivery of Criminal Justice processes in Thames Valley Police. 

This role will lead youth justice decision makers and administrators, as well as contributing directly to youth justice decision making, allowing the role holder to both utilise individual skills in decision making, as well as supporting others in doing so, and being a key figure in the strategic leadership of youth justice within Thames Valley Police. 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to take personal responsibility for making things happen to achieve results, displaying initiative and personal leadership qualities.  You will have the ability to communicate ideas and information effectively, both verbally and in writing and be able to adapt your style when dealing with members of the public who may have experienced or witnessed crime.  Working with internal and external partners, you will be able to challenge in an appropriate manner and to remain impartial when dealing with complex cases.  Excellent IT skills are required with the ability and willingness to assimilate technological advances. 

Previous generalist management experience is required, whilst being expected to exercise personal initiative, make judgements and decisions on fairly complex issues within policy and procedural guidelines but with little guidance from the Senior Manager.
