Assistant Chief Constable Local Policing, Thames Valley Police

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced senior police officers for the role of Assistant Chief Constable Local Policing, Thames Valley Police

 

Brief details of the role as follows:

Working directly to the Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, you will provide effective leadership of the Local Policing portfolio, including direct responsibility for the 12 Local Police Areas, and contribute to the overall leadership of the Force. You will develop and implement appropriate and effective strategies and policies and take command of policing and operational matters as and when required, including as a member of the Gold Command rota in policing Thames Valley Police.

 

You will have the operational and leadership credibility to help ensure we deliver the best policing service we can for our communities. You will have a strong commitment to equality and diversity within the Force and within the communities we serve. You will need to possess a clear understanding of the need for efficient, high levels of performance and demonstrable innovation and openness to change. A commitment to drive improvement is essential in this role as is a collaborative approach and strong relationship building skills.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
