Full Time
Secondment

Secondment or Fixed Term Contract until 31 July 2018

Grade:

Superintendent / Senior Police Staff (Surrey Police Band 1, Sussex Police M3, and Thames Valley Police Band 5)

Salary for Police staff: Band 5

Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley Police Forces have an exciting and unique opportunity for the right person to join the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Team. The role is to lead the successful implementation of a new business critical system that will transform the ‘back office’ support function for the three Forces. This system is a key enabler to delivering operational benefits and driving efficiencies.

As the strategic business change lead you will be part of a tri-force team comprising police staff and officers and be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of change associated with this programme are successfully delivered. You will provide strategic leadership in support of business change and supporting the Tri-Force ERP Strategic Board to ensure that accurate and timely information is available. This role will involve actively engaging effectively at all levels across the three Forces, both internally and externally, and you will need to have excellent communication skills (written and oral) with a proven record of being able to influence and negotiate at senior levels. You will work closely with the Strategic Board and key stakeholders across all three Forces.

We are looking for a talented and dynamic individual who has proven experience in successfully delivering strategic change, preferably within a collaborative environment, which includes an ability to write and deliver detailed plans. You will need to maintain a flexible approach as the programme progresses, responding to any changes quickly whilst maintaining the wider strategic perspective. As such you will need to be resilient and able to work under pressure.

It is desirable that you have an understanding of the ERP concept and the potential it offers to the Forces in transforming how support functions are delivered. A full understanding of, or experience in operational policing is desirable so that the impact of ERP is fully appreciated as well as providing further opportunities for delivering enhanced benefits.

We are committed to creating a diverse police service, which reflects the community we serve.  We value diversity and inclusion and want to attract the best people for the role, regardless of age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, disability, social status or religious beliefs.

This opportunity is open to external applicants on a fixed term contract basis until 31 July 2018, senior police staff members on secondment, Superintendents, or Chief Inspectors who are supported for temporary promotion to Superintendent until July 2018. The focus is on getting the right individual. Police officers will be expected to fulfil any existing on-call requirements for their home Force.

Please note it is a job requirement that individuals hold a current valid full driving licence for motor vehicles and be prepared to travel.

Please indicate on your application if you have a location preference within the three Forces.

For further information on this opportunity, please contact Insp Steve Cheeseman, ERP Business Change Manager for Surrey and Sussex on 07967 988398.

Appointment is as soon as practicable.
