An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified individual to join the Asset Confiscation Recovery (ACE) team, part of the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) hosted by Thames Valley Police on behalf of the region.

SEROCU leads the response across the region to the risk posed by serious and organised crime in Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley. It is committed to relentlessly disrupting these risks by using its 13 capabilities and by partnership working with the National Crime Agency, Forces and other partners.

SEROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the South East region to deliver the government’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy and to protect communities from harm

You will undertake proactive and reactive financial and money laundering investigations in accordance with SEROCU objectives. You will be required to conduct investigations into identified individuals and organised crime groups as well as conduct financial enquires associated with ongoing criminal investigations.

You will liaise with international investigative bodies in respect of global fraud and money laundering issues directly linked to criminal activity in the South East region in order to ensure all disruption opportunities are explored.

You will be an Accredited Financial Investigator with experience of working in a financial environment (training can be given on appointment). You will be proven experience in collating and assessing information and presenting it in a concise and accurate manner. You will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and produce accurate work within tight deadlines. Ideally, you will have previous use of investigative skills in an investigative role or similar environment.

The successful applicant must have capability to travel to different locations across the region and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner.
