An exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated detectives investigating serious and complex crime across Buckinghamshire.
Applications are sought from qualified PIP2 investigators or PIP1 investigators who will take the NIE and work towards accreditation. Successful candidates will work in CID dealing with serious and complex investigations, whilst having the opportunity to develop themselves as investigators and specialise in interviewing witnesses and suspects.
The successful candidate will plan, coordinate and undertake investigations as tasked, utilising all available appropriate techniques and technologies to detect and reduce crime thereby bringing offenders to justice. Support the wider investigative team as and when required by providing resilience, supporting fast time investigations where appropriate. Ensure investigative actions are recorded and maintained via NICHE to ensure accuracy, scrutiny, timely completion and adherence to the Victims Code.
They will deliver a victim-centred service by visiting, assessing and supporting victims to ensure investigations are concluded promptly in line with the Victims Code, ensuring support is available to victims throughout the investigation and prosecution process. Prioritise investigations and manage a caseload, maintaining prompt and accurate records of actions within the OEL on NICHE providing an audit trail and evidencing full compliance with the victim codes and witness charter.

Vetting. All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
