CTPSE is a specialist regional unit made up of officers and staff from the five police forces in the South East Region, and forms part of the national CT Policing network.  We work with a range of partners to help protect the public and National Security by preventing, deterring and disrupting terrorist activity. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to shape this agenda as a member of the senior leadership team in CTPSE, developing the work streams that support the Prevent, Prepare, Protect and Pursue strands of the CONTEST strategy.  You will also have the opportunity to influence and lead on aspects of network-wide work as a member of national boards.

Specifically, you will have leadership responsibility for the investigation teams, including a team of CTSIOs, plus specialist teams including digital investigations, financial investigations and forensics, as well as our CT Policing operations room and surveillance teams.  This includes having responsibility for leading the response to significant and complex terrorist incidents at South East and cross-regional level; plus providing support to CTP South West, the Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit that we buddy with.

We welcome applications from substantive superintendents and chief inspectors suitably qualified and supported to apply for promotion. To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills, including negotiating with and influencing others in a collaborative context.  You will also have the ability to manage threat and risk, and be able to achieve the relevant SIO accreditation (PIP3 SIO and possibly PIP 4 accredited).

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

At CTPSE and SEROCU we are committed to reflecting the communities we serve.  We encourage applications from our under represented communities including all ethnic or religious backgrounds, LGBTQ+, women and those with disabilities.

Security is of paramount importance to us due to the nature of the role. The successful candidate will need to be a British National and, in order to attain the appropriate clearances (including Developed Vetted - DV) you will need to have resided in the UK for the past ten years.  You can find more information about security vetting here.
