In this role, you will work with ICT Senior Management Team, ICT Extended Leadership Team and senior business representatives while leading a team of Project and Programme Managers to deliver a complex Portfolio of ICT Projects. You will manage both junior and senior members of the Change Delivery team to ensure that Projects are well managed and controlled to make most efficient use of allocated resources, and maximise delivery of business benefits within Projects, Programmes and/or the wider Portfolio. You will be working with different teams across ICT such as Architecture, Service Delivery, Security, Dev/Ops to ensure that the projects fit with the approved architectures, are secure and can be operated, managed, and supported in a cost effective manner.

 

You will be able to demonstrate: 

  • Subject matter expertise in the management of ICT Programme Management
  • Experienced ICT Programme Director or Manager having managed ICT programmes in a complex environment using an industry recognised approach such as PRINCE2 or MSP, including the following range of knowledge and skills:

o   Proficient in Budgets - Principles, methods, techniques and tools for the preparation and monitoring of budgets to minimise costs and ensure cost-effectiveness.

o   Proficient in Programme Management - Principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of a programme of projects and related activities through to the successful achievement of planned business benefits.

o   Proficient in Resource Allocation - The effective and efficient deployment of resources, including reassessment and reallocation in a dynamic multi-project environment, to achieve optimum results.

o   Project Risk Management - The effective and efficient management of risks with the programme or programmes being managed.

o   Has an industry wide understanding of IT Architecture, Networks, Cloud Technologies & Infrastructure.

  • Experience of achieving significant outcomes through influence and persuasion rather than through direct line authority
  • Proven experience of managing staff in a matrix structure during significant organisational and structural change
  • Must have capability to travel to different locations across both Forces. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential. 

This role could be carried out with a mix of office and remote working. There will be a requirement for travel to Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police offices of at least twice per week. 

TVP as an employer, contribute 13.5% of pensionable pay into a member’s pension pot. You will be entitled to 30 days of annual leave per annum pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays). Click here to watch a video about the ICT Department and what it means to work with us.
