An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Surveillance Planner to join our team as part of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE).

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing planning and support, briefing and logistics to all surveillance operations carried out as part of the national Counter Terrorism network.

This is a demanding role where you will conduct the initial planning, managing risk assessments and provide advice and responsibility for all surveillance planning aspects for the duration of an operation.

This role involves working with partner agencies and support the national network when required, building relationships, preparing technical equipment and ensuring they suitably maintained to ensure the teams function effectively.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, planning and time management skills. We are seeking to appoint a candidate who is able to work under pressure and produce accurate work within deadlines. Due to the nature of the role, the post holder will need to successfully complete the National Surveillance Planners course and some experience of working within an Intelligence environment.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will have a full UK driving licence and will be able to drive Force cars.

At CTP SE, we are committed to better reflect the communities that we serve.  We encourage applications from our under represented communities including all ethnic or religious backgrounds, LGBTQ+, women and those with disabilities.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level.

In line with Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), candidates who fail to hold, acquire or maintain this vetting level cannot be offered the post. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals.  This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

Due to the nature of the timescales around vetting checks, we will be looking for the successful candidate to start in September 2021.
