Secondment/Fixed Term Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Thames Valley Local Resilience Forum (TVLRF) team. You will work within a small team supporting multi-agency partners from across Thames Valley that make up the TVLRF including emergency services, local authorities, the NHS, the Environment Agency and others. You will play an important role in providing emergency planning and resilience support to TVLRF partners to enable them to fulfil their duties under the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) 2004. This will include the multi-agency assessment of risk for the Community Risk Register, development of emergency plans, undertaking debriefs and the delivery of training and exercising.

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to negotiate and influence others through developing productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will have a proven ability to plan, prioritise, implement and monitor programmes seeing the work through to completion as well as excellent writing skills for a variety of audiences is considered essential. You will be self-motivated and able to use your own initiate to deliver work. You will be competent in using Microsoft applications and able to learn new systems in a short period of time. You will have current knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and Joint Emergencies Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP) or have a willingness to develop your knowledge.  

Please note the successful candidate must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential

Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
