The Digital Forensics Unit supports the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) capabilities with the routine recovery of digital evidence from a range of devices. Our team offer highly specialist digital services to the South East Region and constituent Forces. 

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Digital Forensic Investigator who will be able to conduct examinations of a variety of digital media to support investigations into the most serious incidents of network-based crime and organised criminal activity. You will provide technical advice and assistance to officers and staff engaged in the investigation of crime and attend crime scenes to provide digital forensic advice where required.

This role requires the post holder to interact with both internal and external agencies, therefore you must be a good communicator and with effective team working skills. You will also have good analytical skills and proven experience of managing statistical information. You must be able to work under pressure.

This role is for a Digital Forensic Investigator and candidates will be assessed against the essential criteria of the Job Description enclosed.

This role is currently based in Whitchurch however is currently in scope to move to the new SEROCU Headquarters near M4 Junction 12.  This is an exciting opportunity for the growth and development of SEROCU, and detailed planning work is ongoing.  This change is expected to take place mid 2023.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the South East region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC.  In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government) and studying abroad.
