The South East Regional Organised Crime (SEROCU) Regional Cyber Crime Unit sets out to tackle both cyber-dependent crime and the most complex and serious cyber-enabled crime. The Unit is made up of the Cyber Pursue Team, Dark Web Team, Cyber Protect and Prevent capabilities.

The Dark Web element of the unit specialises in tracking down those engaged in the most serious criminality on the Dark Web  This involves targeting those supplying drugs, providing documents to facilitate human trafficking, disrupting the supply of weapons and those providing a service to facilitate fraud, money laundering and cybercrime.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be responsible for investigating these types of offences.  From identifying the suspect, to arrest/search/interview and then building the case file to support prosecution.  Experience in dealing with complex disclosure cases is necessary.  You will work closely with other specialist capabilities within SEROCU.  You will be provided with the technical training to fully understand the complexities but an interest in cybercrime or digital investigation would be beneficial.

You will need to be able to have good communication skills both verbal and written.  You will often engage with colleagues in law enforcement across the World, working closely with the NCA, FBI and Europol to tackle Dark Web criminality.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Security is of paramount importance to us due to the nature of the role. You need to have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. You will be required to successfully pass and maintain the relevant security clearance in order to perform the role.
