This is an exciting opportunity to join a new POCA team within SE ROCU’s Proactive Economic Crime Capability, created with new Home Office funding to tackle Fraud, Money Laundering and Illicit Finance.20405

As one of a number of Financial Investigators in the team, you will be part of a set up the team, who will utilise Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) Civil Recovery in Summary Proceedings (CRiSP) powers to target Serious and Organised Crime.

Investigations will include Cash Detentions, Account Freezing Orders and Listed Asset Seizures, and will be both stand-alone, as well as in support of other teams within SEROCU. You will take a proactive approach to identify criminal assets, and work closely with other Proactive Economic Crime teams to identify and develop POCA disruption opportunities.

The post holder will provide Financial Investigation support to the newly created Proactive Economic Crime Team (PECT).

You should be results focussed to drive investigations, detention and forfeiture applications, with the ability to work with Force Solicitor and Counsel to robustly recover criminal assets.

The team is likely to be spread geographically and with some agile working, so the role holder will need to possess excellent communication and team skills, as well as being able to work independently with minimum supervision.

You should be able to demonstrate high levels of understanding of Financial Investigation, and POCA tactical options/powers.

Unless already accredited as a Financial Investigator, the post holder will be required to complete the relevant entrant’s exam and training, and thereafter complete all CPD to attain full accreditation with the NCA Proceeds of Crime Centre (PoCC).

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Security is of paramount importance to us due to the nature of the role. You need to be a British National and resided in the UK for the past five years for Security Clearance (SC).  You will be required to successfully pass and maintain the relevant security clearance in order to perform the role.
