We welcome applications from Detective Sergeants to work within the team of investigators who provide a 24/7 response to terrorism offences. The department takes action against those who pose the highest threat to our national security, on behalf of the South East region – in a role which is both challenging and rewarding.

As Detective Sergeant within the investigation Team you will be expected to lead a team of CT investigators to manage National Security cases from intelligence development through to Prosecution and beyond. You will often perform the role of a Deputy Senior Investigating Officer.

The investigation function of the Counter Terrorism Network is integral in reducing those national security risks and falls within the Pursue element of the national CONTEST strategy.

The successful candidate will be PIP2 accredited.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV.  In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.

You can find more information about security vetting here.
