We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Investigator to join the South East Regional Crypto Currency Unit at SEROCU. The successful candidates will be joining an established and nationally recognised team due to the expansion of the existing capability which is planned to commence in January 2026.
Applications are invited from accredited Financial Investigators. Those on the development pathway to become an accredited Financial Investigator are invited to apply where in addition they have established experience of working with crypto currencies. This restriction acknowledges the challenging development pathway to learn to track, trace and seize crypto currencies which is not deemed to be possible while also completing the learning required to become and accredited financial investigator.
The successful candidate will either demonstrate a strong background and accreditation as a Financial Investigator and a keen interest or experience in working with crypto currencies or a strong background of working with crypto currencies with a keen interest in working through accreditation to become a Financial Investigator. Possessing a high degree of understanding of crypto currencies and analytical skills will be key to their success in the role. A commitment to attend and complete training courses that will equip them to achieve these skills is essential.
The successful candidate will need to be adaptable in order to join this forward-thinking team at the forefront of law enforcement efforts to respond to the increased use of crypto currencies. This unique and exciting opportunity brings about a challenging and rewarding role, where no two days are the same.
Our working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We offer flexible and remote working options, but staff are required to work from the office two days a week
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.
You will also be required to perform on-call arrangements for immediate response as required across the South East region
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
