An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Forensic Audio Visual Technician to join Thames Valley Police on a permanent basis, to provide specialist support in the forensic preservation, recovery, enhancement and presentation of multimedia material.

 

In this role you will preserve, extract, analyse, copy and repair analogue and digital multimedia evidence at a scene or in the laboratory by using various specialist computer-based hardware and software to deliver an evidential product on a range of media to internal and external customers. As well as, enhancing and editing analogue and digital multimedia evidence as required by using various specialist computer-based hardware and software in order to achieve the highest evidential standard.

 

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education including excellent numeracy and literacy skills with recent experience in report writing. You will also have proven, detailed and extensive knowledge of video and audio principles, including different formats, and editing hardware and software.

 

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

 

Capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly. Due to unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working public transport may not be suitable. For this reason, a full driving licence is considered essential for this role.

 

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
