We are recruiting for a Financial Investigator to join our Regional Asset Recovery Team (RART) as part of the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).

The South East RART is responsible for proactively investigating Money Laundering offences and recovering assets from Organised Crime Groups active in the South East. The role involves conducting financial investigation in support of criminal investigations by the team, and standalone POCA investigations. The role holder will carry a mixed case load of investigations, making use of all POCA powers, including Civil Investigations. The team takes a proactive approach, and along with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and financial investigation, the role also involves planning and executing operational activity including searches and interviews.

You will undertake proactive and reactive financial and money laundering investigations in accordance with the objectives of the SEROCU. You will conduct searches, secure evidence and interview suspects involved in financial criminality. You will provide and present relevant financial evidence to a high standard in order to prosecute offenders and where necessary provide evidence at court.

You will be an Accredited Financial Investigator or have experience of financial investigation (training can be given on appointment). You will have proven experience in collating and assessing information and presenting it in a concise and accurate manner. You must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision and have the ability to work under pressure. Excellent time management and communication skills are also essential to the role.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
