If so, Thames Valley Police are looking to recruit you to join as a Police Contact Enquiry Officer.

As a Police Contact Enquiry Officer you will be at the heart of helping to protect and support the local community.  You will be the first point of contact for all members of the public visiting the police station and will respond to a wide range of enquiries.  You will offer support and reassurance to victims, witnesses, and vulnerable people and will record  incidents and crimes, both face to face and online.  You will deal with offenders and complete a variety of court-ordered registrations, including sex offenders and bail.  You will need to be assertive and use your excellent communication skills to reason with and calm emotional and upset visitors, whilst showing sensitivity and an understanding of confidentiality and diversity.  Problem solving and decision making skills are essential, as is the ability to work both as part of a team and independently

You will also deal with internal customers and will provide a high quality customer service to all, in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures. There will be general administration and the responsibility for dealing with the receipt and return of evidential property.

Please note for this role there is a requirement to attend a 2 week full time training course based at Kidlington.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
