MAPPA provides a statutory basis for Police, Prison and Probation to work together, along with other agencies. This is an important role to support agencies to protect the public.
In this role you will support the MAPPA Coordinator and provide management of MAPPA activity as directed by the local MAPPA Coordinator and Strategic Management Board (SMB). MAPPA Coordination aims to ensure that multi-agency risk management is focussed on the right people in a timely and efficient manner. It helps ensure the delivery of robust and defensible plans, which address known indicators of serious harm to others.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the role of MAPPA in the Criminal Justice System with experience of writing clear and concise reports, contributing to the provision of effective administration and information systems.
Proven supervisory experience in a demanding, fast paced role is required along with the ability to coach, develop and mentor staff, sometimes remotely. Excellent IT skills are required. The ability to consistently maintain high levels of personal responsibility, particularly confidentiality and the handling of highly sensitive information and intelligence is essential. A knowledge and understanding of the ViSOR application or a willingness to learn is also required.
Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

Vetting. All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner.
